Guidelines for Students

Follow the steps below in order to write the project.

Step 1

1. Choose a topic of your own. It can be any person, place, thing or ideas that you would like to share with the class. Explain your choice (Write about 2-3 sentences).


2. Make a list of facts that you know about the topic of your choice.


3. Make a list of questions asking about the things you don't know but you would like to know about the topic of your choice.


4. Make a list of places / sources where you can find the answers on these questions.


5. Fill in the first part of the Checklist:

1. Did you choose the topic?

2. Did you explain your choice?

3. Did you write a list of facts you know?

4. Did you make a list of what you'd like to know, but you don't know?

5. Did you list your possible sources of information?

Step 2

6. Collect all the new information you found about your topic.


7. Summarize each source of information you found in about 5-7 sentences.


8. Fill in the second part of the Checklist:

1. Did you collect enough sources of information?

2. Did you find different kinds of sources (textual, visual information)?

3. Did you summarize each source of information?

4. Did you check English? Spelling and grammar? Punctuation and Capitalization?

Step 3

9. Answer all the questions that you did not know but wanted to know about the topic in the very beginning of the project.


10. Fill in the third part of the Checklist:

 

1. Did you answer all the questions about the things you did not know about the topic?

2. Did you check vocabulary, grammar, spelling and punctuation in your answers?

3. Did you fill in the reflection form of the project?


11. Fill in the Reflection Form on the work you have done:

1. Why did you choose this particular topic?
2. What difficulties did you encounter?
3. What did you feel while you were working on the project?
4. Do you think that you have succeeded in your project and what mark do you expect to get?

Step 4

12. Teach the class about the topic of your choice. Make your presentation attractive and interesting. (For example, you may write a small book and present it to the class, give a lecture or make a movie or a Power Point presentation.)
