My Google Site Project - Level A

Your goal is to build a Google Site that will present a number of digital tasks you will complete in the course of the year.

Step 1: Getting Ready

   1. Think of a catchy icon and a name for your site.

   2. Go to the Google Sites.

   3. Create a Google site.

 

Step 2: Presenting Yourself

   1. Go to Google Docs.

   2. Write a paragraph about yourself.  Make sure you include the following information:

  • Your name

  • Where you live

  • Your hobbies

  • Things you like/ dislike

  • Things you like to do in your free time.

   3. Edit it. Send the written task to your teacher for approval. (Part 1 of your final paper).

   4. Learn the presentation by heart.

   5. Go to VOKI.

   6. Create an AVATAR that will represent you on the site.

   7. Record your presentation in the VOKI. Remember to talk without reading from a page.

   8. Upload the VOKI to your site.

 

Step 3: Describing your Favorite Sports Activity

   1. Write a short paragraph about your favorite after-school sports activity.

   2. Make sure it includes answers to the following questions:

  • What sport activity do you like doing in your free time?

  • Describe the activity that you enjoy doing. Why do you like doing this?

  • Do you think that this activity will become part of your future career? Explain your answer.

  • Do you think you'll continue doing this activity in the future? Why do you think so? Explain.

   3. Edit it. Send the written task to your teacher for approval. (Part 1 of your final paper).

   4. Go to VOKI.

   5. Record your presentation in the VOKI.

  • NB: ​DON’T READ from your notes – TALK!!!

 

   6. Upload the VOKI to your site.

   7. Add pictures to illustrate your talk.

   8. Add interesting facts on the topic of your choice.

 

Step 4: Describing a School Trip

   1. Write a short paragraph about a school trip you had.

   2. Make sure it includes answers to the following questions:

  • Do you like going on school trips? Explain and give an example of a trip you liked or didn't like.

  • Do you think students should have a choice of whether to go on school trips or not? Explain.

  • What do you think students learn by going on school trips? Explain.

   3. Edit it. Send the written task to your teacher for approval. (Part 1 of your final paper).

   4. Go to VOKI

   5. Record your presentation in the VOKI.

   6. Upload the VOKI to your site.

   7. Add pictures to illustrate your talk.

   8. Add interesting facts on the topic of your choice.

 

Step 5: Talking about your Summer Vacations

   1. Write a short paragraph about things you like to do/ did during your summer vacations.

   2. Make sure it includes answers to the following questions:

  • What do you like about summer vacations and what don't you like about them? Give at least one example for each and explain why.

  • Describe ONE interesting thing/ ONE interesting place you visited during your last summer vacations.

  • What is something you would like to do in a summer vacation that you haven’t done yet? Explain why you’d like to do this.

   3. Edit it. Send the written task to your teacher for approval. (Part 1 of your final paper).

   4. Go to VOKI

   5. Record your presentation in the VOKI.

   6. Upload the VOKI to your site.

   7. Add pictures to illustrate your talk.

   8. Add interesting facts on the topic of your choice.

 

Step 6: Sharing Your Site

   1. Share your site with your class.

   2. Go to the sites of other groups.

   3. Make yourself acquainted with them.

   4. Choose one you liked the most.

   5. Explain your choice.

   6. Write a recommendation for the site of another group on your site.
