My Beautiful Israel:

Faces and Places

Instructions for Students

Get into groups of up to 4 students.

Part 1: Faces

Step 1: Design a photo album.

1. Choose a program that is easy for all of you to work with: Google Sheets or Google Docs. 

2. Add a photo / photos / pictures that present you, your friends, your parents, your siblings, etc.

3. Write a short paragraph about each student in the group. Share the following information:

  • name

  • age

  • hobbies

  • favorite things.

4. Write a short paragraph about each one of the people on the photo / photos / pictures. Include the following information:

  • the name of the person

  • his/ her age

  • how he / she is related to the students in the group.

  • his /her occupation, hobbies, etc.

5. Upload it to your classroom for your teacher to check.

 

 

Step 2: Create a webpage / poster dedicated to a person you admire.

1. CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • ONE person from your family, who is important to you.

  • a famous Israeli / Jewish scientist / political figure / artist / sportsperson / singer / etc.

  • an Israeli hero

 

2. Add his / her picture.

3. Fill in his / her fact file:

​4. Create a timeline for this person’s life.

5. Write a paragraph that includes the following information:

  • why you have chosen this person

  • what the important events in his / her life are

  • descriptions of the person's character / personality traits / achievements / actions that make you admire him / her.

6. Upload your work to the classroom

Step 3: Oral Presentation for part 1

1. Choose one of the tasks and record yourself doing it.

  • Talk about yourself and /or your family

  • Make a role play on the topic" Making acquaintance"

  • Have an imaginary interview with a person you admire.

 

2. Upload your work to the classroom.

Part 2: Places.

Step 4: Talking about our country.

CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: 

A. Make an on-line travel brochure.

B. Design an advert for a bus tour

C. Make a blog for a trip you had to some place in Israel to share with others.

A. Make an on-line travel brochure.

1. Decide on a city / region in Israel you would like to tell about.

2. Find the map of this place and add it to your work.

3. Find out and write 5 interesting facts about this place.

4. Find out and write about each of the following:

  • sites to visit there

  • things to do there

  • best places to stay there

  • the best time to visit there

  • things to pack for a trip there

​5. Upload your work to the classroom.

B. Design an advert for a bus tour.

1. Decide on a city / region in Israel you would like to see.

2. Find the main attractions there.

3. Choose 5 stops at the main attractions of the place.

4. Present some interesting information for each stop.

5. Describe each stop shortly.

6. Upload your work to the classroom.

 

C. Make a blog for a trip you had to some place in Israel to share with others.

  1. Describe each place you visited.

  2. Write 3-4 entries telling what you did there.

  3. Choose 10 photos that illustrate your trip.

  4. Write captions for each photo.

  5. Upload your work to the classroom

 

Step 5: Oral Presentation for part 2

1. Choose one of the tasks and record yourself doing it:

  • Talk about your trip

  • Make a talk about places in Israel

  • Act as a tour guide and tell about places you learned about

 

 

2. Upload your work to the classroom.

Step 6: Putting it all together

1. Organize your work as an online book / website.

2. Share it with your class.
