Your goal is to build a Google Site that will present a number of digital tasks you will complete in the course of the year.

Step 1: Getting Ready

​

   1. Choose one of the topics below you want to build your site about

​

• My Hometown

• My Summer Vacations

• My Free Time

• My Favorite Music

• School Trips

 

   2. Think of a catchy icon and a name for your site

   3. Go to the Google Sites.

   4. Create a Google site.

​

 

Step 2: Presenting Yourself

​

   1. Go to Google Docs

   2. Write a paragraph about yourself.  Make sure you include the following information:

​

• Your name

• Where you live

• Your hobbies

• Things you like/ dislike

• Things you like to do in your free time.

​

   3. Edit it. Send the written task to your teacher for approval. (Part 1 of your final paper).

   4. Learn the presentation by heart.

   5. Go to VOKI.

   6. Create an AVATAR that will represent you on the site

   7. Record your presentation in the VOKI. Remember to talk without reading from a page.

   8. Upload the VOKI to your site.

Step 3: Adding information on your topic

   

     1. Write a short paragraph on the topic you have chosen.

   2. Make sure it includes answers to the following questions:

   A. My Hometown

• Where do you live?

• What's special about your hometown?

• What is your favorite place in your hometown?

• What makes it so special?

• If you could change anything in your hometown to improve it, what would it be? Explain.

• Do you think your hometown is a good place for teens to live in? Explain why or why not.

• If someone wanted to move to your hometown, would you recommend it? Explain why or why not.

   B. My Summer Vacations

• Tell me one thing you like about summer vacations and one thing you don’t like about summer vacations. Give at least one example for each and explain why.

• What is something you would like to do in a summer vacation that you haven’t done yet? Explain why you’d like to do this.

• If your summer vacations were shorter, how would this change your plans? Explain why.

• If your summer vacations were longer, how would this change your plans? Explain why.

   C. My Free Time

• What do you like doing in your free time?

• Describe the activity that you enjoy doing. Why do you like doing this?

• Do you think that what you do in your free time will become part of your future career? Explain your answer.

• Do you think you'll continue doing this activity in the future? Why do you think so? Explain.

   D. My Favorite Music

• How does music make you feel?  Give an example.

• What kind of music do you like and why?

• Do you prefer songs in English or in your own language? Explain.

• Do you think it's important to understand what a song means? Explain.

• Can you do other things while you are listening to music? Give an example.

   E. School Trips

• Do you like going on school trips? Explain and give an example of a trip you liked or didn't like.

• Do you think it's important to have parents go on school trips with the students? Explain.

• Do you think students should have a choice of whether to go on school trips or not? Explain.

• Do you think there are advantages to going on school trips to other countries? Explain.

• What do you think students learn by going on school trips? Explain.

   5. Record your presentation in the VOKI.

   6. Upload the VOKI to your site.

   7. Add pictures to illustrate your talk.

   8. Add interesting facts on the topic of your choice.

Step 4: Sharing Your Site

​

     1. Share your site with your class.

   2. Go to the sites of other groups.

   3. Make yourself acquainted with them.

   4. Choose one you liked the most.

   5. Explain your choice.

   6. Write a recommendation for the site of another group on your site.
